The only way you will lose weight in 2 weeks is by adhering to a diet. The word diet often carries the negative connotation of punishment or suffering, but this should never be the case! The diet I follow is effective, enjoyable, and even allows me to lose weight without exercise. This diet is perfect for weight loss, but also extremely healthy. Not only will you lose weight fast, but you will also fortify your health. Keep reading to learn about the best diet to lose weight in 2 weeks.

The diet I recommend is better known as the Paleo Diet. Our goal is to mimic the diet of our hunter-gatherer ancestors in a modern society. We will focus on eating lean meats, plenty of fibrous vegetables, healthy fats, and a limited amount of fruit.

Why It Works...the Paleo diet works with your genetics to help you get lean, strong, and energetic. Scientific research indicates that our modern diet is the culprit for the degenerative diseases that plague our society (obesity, heart disease, cancer, depression, and infertility to name a few).

Benefits of the Paleo Lifestyle

Improved energy levels
Optimized health
Fast weight loss
More efficient workouts
Reduced allergies
Balanced energy levels
Clear skin
Improved sleep
Stable blood sugar

I don't want to get too technical with why this diet works, but we need to dive into a little denser material to fully understand why eating Paleo is so powerful for fat loss. Our body and brain know how much energy we have stored. This is all occurring unconsciously and only applicable under normal neuro-regulation of our appetite. Unfortunately, we weren't all born with great genetics or an appetite that matches our energy expenditure. It is our responsibility to choose meals an intelligent manor, thus improving the neuro-regulation of our appetite. In summary, by eating Paleo, your body and brain will communicate more clearly and you will not feel hungry all the time! You will feel full and lose fat at the same time. Essentially, you will be functioning at the highest capacity possible.

Not all calories are created equal. The most common principle of weight loss is calories in cannot exceed calories out. While this does hold some truth, it is not entirely accurate. Not all calories are created equal. 500 calories from a fibrous vegetable will impact the body much differently than 500 calories from a sugary piece of chocolate cake. The sugary cake will cause a significant spike in your blood sugar levels and offer no nutritional value. The fibrous vegetables will help you feel full for a longer period of time and provide your body with an arsenal of healthy antioxidants and nutrients that positively benefit your long-term health. You cannot assume a "one-size-fits-all" approach to dieting. As we investigate each macronutrient group in more detail, this prospect will become more evident.

Protein will always take priority in this diet. Protein is crucial for repairing your muscles and building cells. I recommend a minimum of.5 grams of protein per pound of body weight. Typically, eating 1 gram of protein per pound of body weight is an ideal range.

Carbs...do you think our hunter/gatherer ancestors ate pizza, whole wheat bread, and pasta? Of course not! And they functioned at a much higher level of fitness than any of us. It is a common misnomer that we need carbohydrates in our diet to provide energy and keep us alive. In reality, we only need enough carbohydrates to provide glucose for the brain and occasional anaerobic exercise. Truthfully, our brain doesn't even need glucose to operate. Ketones from a low-carb diet work extremely well. With weight loss being our goal, we would much rather see our daily energy being fueled by stored fats. Keep your carbohydrate intake under 80 grams per day to maximize fat loss. You will lower your insulin levels and utilize your stored body fat for energy. Only 80 grams of carbs!? What!!?? That sounds like an awfully low amount of carbs to eat each day, but you will have no problem staying below this number if you follow the guidelines of the diet (no grains, sugars, and limited fruit consumption).

Most dieters avoid fat like the plague. This is a HUGE dietary mistake. Fats are literally the fuel for this diet. Healthy fats have minimal impact on insulin and promote the burning of stored body fat for fuel. This is perfect for anyone looking to lose weight in 2 weeks or lose weight without exercise! Keeping our protein and carbohydrate intake fairly constant will give us free reign to adjust our fat intake based on our fitness goals. Your body will become extremely efficient at burning stored fat for energy, and you will start to lose weight fast.

Paleo Diet Guidelines

This diet is highly flexible and can be easily modified to suit your fitness needs. Whether you want to lose weight in 2 weeks or lose weight without exercise, manipulation of the diet will allow both. As a starting point, we will structure our meals in the following fashion.

*Eat 4-8 oz of lean protein (chicken, lean beef, turkey, seafood, or
pork loin).
*Include several servings of vegetables (raw, steamed, or lightly cooked).
*Add some good fats to the meal (olive oil, avocado, almonds, pecans,
or walnuts)
*Eat this way 3-4 times a day.

It looks rather bland, but with the addition of herbs and spices, every meal can be transformed into a delicious dish. As a side note, fruit is allowed on this diet, but in order to lose as much fat as possible, I recommend eliminating it for the next two weeks. If you do eat fruit, stick to berries and limit yourself to 1-2 servings per day. Now you know how to eat in order to lose weight in 2 weeks or lose weight without exercise!
